Digital Manufacturing Chapter Opening in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WIFR) — Rockford is the first city to be chosen as a digital manufacturing hub.

A new program in Rockford is attempting to revolutionize manufacturing nationwide.

“I see this as the next coming of the Industrial Revolution, and it’s starting right here in Rockford,” says Congresswoman Cheri Bustos.

Account disabled by server administrator With over 700 manufacturing companies in the Rockford region, a new program hopes to use the existing local resources to help digitize American manufacturing, or the idea of having the data flowing through machines throughout the entire manufacturing process, increasing efficiency.

“This is a momentous day for Rockford, Illinois,” continues Bustos.
