Code for America Launches Rockford Brigade
(Rockford, IL) The EIGERlab’s IT (information technology) Roundtable is proud to announce that we are officially launching a Code for America Brigade in Rockford. The Brigade program helps local volunteer groups partner with government in an effort to enhance their communities. Brigades hold regular hack nights, events, advocate for open data, and deploy apps. Currently, in 31 cities and four countries, Brigade volunteers and local government officials are creating new avenues for civic engagement and working to create an open and participatory city hall.

“The EIGERlab IT Roundtable has been working over the last year to develop a partnership with the City of Rockford, Code for America, Smart Chicago Collaborative, and the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition. Establishing a Brigade in Rockford furthers the IT Roundtable’s goal of developing a strong IT community in our region. We hope by doing so we will attract even more talented professionals and businesses to the Region,” said Dan Cataldi, Executive Director, EIGERlab.
Code for America is a 501(c)3 non-profit that partners with local governments and citizens to foster civic innovation.
